How to choose an industrial dust filter

The right filter depends on a few key factors. Getting them right first time avoids blocked filters, rising pressures and premature replacement.

Filter area

Measured in square metres, this must match the airflow your filling process generates. Undersize it and the filter blocks and pressure rises; oversize it and you overpay. Needs run from around 1 square metre for small applications up to 435 square metres for large modular units.

Cleaning method

Jet-pulse cleaning uses a blast of compressed air to clear the media and suits sites with a compressed air supply. Vibration cleaning needs no compressed air and suits simpler installations.

Material and application

Fine cement behaves differently to coarser powders, and food or sensitive materials require stainless, food-grade construction.

Housing and fit

Silo size and available roof space determine the housing type and diameter, typically from DN350 up to DN1550 on larger units.
